CONNECT Summer Community Service Program and Expedition

Many individuals are becoming increasingly despondent about the way development extends its name across the country, all in the name of displaced visions for growth. With the problems of sustainability and development, LGD pulls resources together to execute and advance development projects right at the ground stage. After researching many socio-economic and environmental issues, the League for Global Development came out with an agenda to address some of these problems hindering development on this continent.

CONNECT is a highlight of a global development campaign championed by the League for Global Development that seeks to empower the youth to contribute their quota towards sustainable development in Ghana.

The growth in need has outstripped the funding and resources available even though nonprofits have made remarkable progress over the past decade with regards to youth empowerment and raising marginalized groups. These services are of critical importance, especially for the young individuals and the youth, who are most vulnerable and least able to confront the many challenges they face, even in stable times. The organization has collaborated with various organizations towards the execution of global initiatives on a local, regional, and national level.

The target remains global by 2030, which would establish sustainable development and innovations across the nation. It is in this light that the CONNECT ideology was born to serve as a platform that empowers African youth to contribute their quota towards the achievement of the SDGs.

CONNECT, an involving community service project encompasses the development of all forms to engage the youth of the nation and around the globe to deliver their optimum potentials into sustainability. The assertion that global growth is a collaborative effort of all citizens of the world will not be entirely true unless the initiatives of the youth are involved. That is why CONNECT has been proposed with concerted efforts and as an empowerment platform to engage the youth with a keen interest in sustainable development.

Subsequently, CONNECT is exceedingly fastened with collaboration and creativity to pioneer sustainability and to integrate dimensions of innovations.  CONNECT tends to indulge in the youth the spirit of volunteerism to help attain the SDGs.

CONNECT is an inevitable phase of youth empowerment. It encompasses all upholding agendas and instruments needed to promote and preserve national development. CONNECT has a long-term development plan for high aims at involving the youth in global development.

During the maiden edition of CONNECT, the LGD crew comprised of three teams; Green Ghana, Tech Innovates, and Art-Resource, each had its role to play. Green Ghana oversaw Agricultural development, Health, and sanitation. Tech Innovate handled the machinery and gadgets as well as all technical operations and, they headed the library renovation project. Art Resource was the education and entertainment team in charge of everything concerning educational activities throughout the expedition.
