Word from the Executive Director

I am excited to be writing to you as the Executive Director/Co-Founder of the League for Global Development. Since we founded this organization in March 2017, I have been inspired and energized by the team’s passion and commitment to the organization’s vision. We’ve spent a lot of time planning for impactful and engaging educational programs such as community outreach, expeditions, and have been able to hit the ground running with several exciting projects and activities.

During my 2-year tenure at Mfantsipim School, specializing in leading strategic initiatives and innovative solutions to scale impact, I have had the pleasure of working with a variety of wonderful organizations and individuals in Cape Coast, Accra, Paris, and Madrid. In the first quarter of 2018, we immersed over 300 students and 30 teachers of various schools in Cape Coast in sustainable development through education, forums, and activism at the Ghana International Youth Summit in Mfantsipim School.

These students are now thinking globally and acting locally. However, under the new national policies, it will be even more challenging to continue the work we do without community support.

I was impressed with the activities that took place during my time in Mfantsipim School and the scale of impact it had on the natives of Cape Coast as well as the volunteers and members of the League for Global Development. I want to take this opportunity to express my profound gratitude, especially to my Co-Founder, Advisor, and Father, Mr. Richard Ofori. He continues to be a blessing to me in diverse ways. Also, to all the parents of the volunteers and executives, we say a big thank you for your continuous support and encouragement.

I am delighted to bring my diverse skills to support the vision of the League for Global Development at this significant time in the organization’s development.

Thanks to the support of our stakeholders, we have worked tirelessly to make fundamental progress over the last four years. We are getting close to achieving some developmental breakthrough that is sensitizing the youth to contribute their quota towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, which are ultimately meant to change the lives of citizens of the world.

Very few nonprofits are blessed with the types of folks one finds at the League for Global Development. Time and again, I am asked how LGD gets such good board members, volunteers, and staff. All I can say is that we are blessed. We, the LGD community, assumes the prime opportunity to serve our community through service to humanity.

I look forward to our work in the upcoming years, and I thank everyone in advance for all your support.
